Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of October half term week saw the first Dave Syers football camp at Collingham FC. The children learned a range of new skills in a fun environment created by the excellent lead coaches Stephen Potter and Ben Severn. The boys and girls improved their shooting, tackling, heading, passing and movement and were able to demonstrate these skills in a mini world cup on the last afternoon. The ‘world cup’ featured extra points for teamwork, fair play and encouragement, as well as post match interviews with the players!

The children’s improvement was clear to see over the 3 days and was recognised on the last day with a presentation by Dave Syers. Each child was presented with a medal for their hard work during the week. Dave then took time to sign autographs for the boys and girls, having already answered their tough questions about life as a footballer on the first day!

The course was a real success and enjoyed by the coaches and the footballers, with one of the children saying “It was the best course I’ve ever been on!” Big thanks go to all the coaches and Dave as well as to Collingham FC for hosting the course.
